Our Story
The Canadian Writers’ Exhibition is a volunteer-managed entertainment organization, showcasing Canadian writers from coast to coast.
EDITORIAL TEAM
Zoë Swinimer – Co-Founder
Zoë Swinimer’s background is in the arts and sciences. Born in Nova Scotia, she completed a double (B.Sc.) degree in Biology and Theatre Production with a minor in Fine Arts from Acadia University in pursuit of combining disciplines, to make concepts at the heart of learning accessible and captivating for more communities. This showcase of Canadian writers is something she considers to be an uplifting case of diverse education backgrounds connecting to build a much-needed learning resource! She frequently indulges in breakfast, a healthy sleep schedule, and lies
Hope Latta – Co-Founder, Managing Editor
Hope Latta has a background in creative writing, specifically in the performing arts. She has contributed to over 10 film projects and studied drama at the American Repertory Theatre. In 2021, Hope wrote a short summary of women’s issues in computer science, and this was used to promote International Women’s Day at the United Nations Association of Greater Boston. Recently, Hope was one of five playwrights accepted into the Juilliard Evening Division fall 2021 program. At the moment, she is working on a screenplay with Lee Stringer.
Santana Bellatoni – Editor
Santana Bellantoni is a journalist and will soon be starting a job as a reporter for Guelph Today. She was born and raised in Ottawa. She enjoys writing about sustainability, city politics, and transportation. As a writer for The Canadian Writer’s Exhibition, she loves learning about each author’s take on our current climate change situation and how they write about it in their work. In her free time, she enjoys reading books by Jon Ronson, Samantha Irby, and Colleen Hoover.
Evan Mardell – Researcher, Interviewer
Evan Mardell is a volunteer interviewer for the Canadian Writer’s Exhibition. He has a background in the social sciences from Ryerson University (B.A.) and Western University (M.A.) where he specialised in socio-cultural anthropology. Awarded the Ontario Graduate Scholarship for his thesis work on Quebec anglophone out-migrants, Evan is now taking his research skills to the professional world. Besides interviewing, Evan also loves writing and listening to music, as well as reviewing films.
